The 2006 Fifa world cup in Germany was the most extensively covered and viewed event in television history. even though South Africa is located at the southern tip of Africa, for four weeks in 2010 South Africa will be the centre of the world and promises to draw even bigger audiences, an estimated three million international visitors, the eyes of billions of television viewers and the cream of the world's best sporting media will be focused on the Southern tip of Africa.
